It’s no secret that I am a huge fan of BBC Radio 1 and their Live Lounge sessions. They take the top artists of the moment and give them a new / old / classic / fun song to cover. The results are always interesting and sometimes better than the original.
It spawned some of favourite covers, including Kygo and Parson’ James spin on Tove Lo’s ‘Habits’, The Maccabees, take on ‘Lean On’ by Major Lazer, George Ezra’s cover of Macy Gray’s ‘I Try’, Ed Sheeran with an old classic by Christina Aguilera, with ‘Dirrty’ and James Bay’s spin on Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney’s‘Four Five Seconds’’.
Her lilting vocals and piano skills make Frances’s mashup of ‘7 Years’ by Lukas Graham and ‘Stressed Out’ by Twenty One Pilots absolute perfection.
Which do you prefer?
