Get ready because The Cape Town Folk ‘n Acoustic Music Festival is back and bigger than ever. Real Wired Music and Sedgwick’s Old Brown are proud to announce the second installment of the Cape Town Folk ‘n Acoustic Music Festival. I was lucky enough to attend the first event and it was something spectacular, I cannot for this one!
Over two nights at the historic Fugard Theatre, an all-new line-up of South African folk artists including the likes of multi award-winning Shawn Phillips, Gerald Clark, André de Villiers, Derek Gripper, Tina Schouw, Joshua Grierson, Larry Joe, Emma du Preez, Simon van Gend and Dave Knowles will perform in an intimate, concert-style setting. The performances will be stripped down to the essence of the songs – guitar and voice.
The evening is set to be an experience of the finest musical storytelling from the personal journeys of some of South Africa’s best songwriters and musicians. It will take place on the 10th and 11th August at the Fugard Theatre and tickets are R160 per night and are available here.
