Gigham.

Say hello to your new favourite event finding app. Say hello to Gigham. Think an events listing application that Roach – from African Dope Records – and friend George Gally built to try make life a bit easier. Think an easier to discover all the really great shows going on around you, and even easier to post and promote your events.

Roach and George thought it was unacceptable that halfway through 2012 the best place to find out about everything that’s going on is still the newspaper. With that in mind they built an app that automatically finds events from Facebook and all over the interwebs, then maps, categorizes, sorts and socializes them. They found over 2000 things to do in and around Cape Town this month already – so whether it’s dubstep, langarm, comedy, markets, art, bellydancing, amateur drama, burlesque, mountainbiking or cave putt putt you’re into – they have you covered.

Log into Gigham with Facebook, and you can see who’s attending each event, and where your friends are going. And the more you use Gigham, the better it’ll get to know you and the more relevant what you are seeing will become.

As for all the artists, venues and promoters you can simply log in using Facebook. That’s it, done. Not one single line on a form to fill in. No emal to send. Roughly 24 hours later, your events will be live. Now just how exciting is that?

Ever since I first heard about Gigham it has promised to be something exciting. Now get going and try it out!

ps If you are not in the Western Cape, don’t stress, they are busy making things happen. Think Joburg and KZN. Keep an eye out!
