Thursday nights on MK will never be the same again. There is a new weekly show in town. Think an explosion that will feature South African and international electronic music in a way it has never been seen before – on a street level through the eyes and ears of the fans on the dancefloor, and straight from the mouths and minds of DJ’s, producers and electronic artists.
South Africa is filled with phenomenal electronic artists who’re taking over the scene and gaining much of their love and support from both a local and international fan-base. So it’s about time they had a platform to be acknowledged and showcased on, which is what MK Elektro is all about. The South African dance-music scene is rapidly moving from the undergrounds of Cape Town and Johannesburg, into the world spotlight. MK Elektro will bring attention to this by featuring some of the biggest parties of the year, with the finest hidden-nightlife in the country. The presenters will fight tooth and nail when it comes to finding and exposing the freshest dance-music talent the country has to offer.
If you’re looking forward to the usual club-scene documentation you’re used to watching, you’re going to be pretty disappointed. With this being the first show of its kind in South Africa, MK Elektro holds nothing back.
