The Scoundrels meet South Africa. Road Trip Style.

What do you get when you have 12 days, 7 rocking shows, 9 people, 1 car and the open roads of SA…you get the Hunters Debut Down South Tour! After a highly successful competition in 2010, Global Moguls have decided that it is time to spice things up a bit and team up SA’s amazing local bands with up and coming UK blues rockers the Scoundrels.

The aim of this tour is to bring new international music to SA audiences in a laidback and intimate way. No overpriced and big stadium gigs here, just real music in some of the best live music venues around the country.

“This will be the first time the Scoundrels have ever toured South Africa and we want them to experience SA in as many ways as possible! So with this in mind we will be packing our bags, loading up our van and hitting the road for 12 days visiting JHB, DBN, PTA, Bloem, Oudtshoorn, Cape Town and Stellenbosch along the way in good old fashioned road trip style” say CEO of Global Moguls, Jade Carlisle.

For the fans of local music who might be asking “What about supporting our local bands?” Fear not, Global Moguls intends on doing just that and knows that South Africa has some wicked talent right here on our back doorstep. At each gig, 2 local bands in each city will get to the opportunity to open for the Scoundrels and get their moment to rock out and show fans what they got. Not only will the lucky local bands get to share a stage with an international act but they will also get the change to hang out, chill and learn from the Scoundrels and you never know, there might even be a collaboration or two!

Hailing from the UK the Scoundrels are made up of Ned, Josh ,Billy and George who started off as childhood friends all sharing a love of music which resulted in them all attending London’s LCCM Music College. Here was born a band with a shared dream to find an authentic British version of the kind of blues that existed in their record collections and their imaginations. Find it they did and they have never looked back. They have been privileged to have Seymour Stein (the man responsible for the careers of no smaller names than Madonna and The Ramones) take notice of them and suggest they spend time in South Louisiana USA perfecting their blues/rock vibe.

As their momentum is picking up at a speed, Global Moguls feels that this is the perfect time to bring them to SA and let you the fans sample a little bit of the Scoundrel magic.

So be sure you don’t miss the chance to see the Scoundrels and our local bands on tour, go here for a full listing of all the gigs.
