Say hello to my new favourite artist. Say hello to Hattie Murdoch. She is an emerging singer/songwriter, who now resides in Newcastle. Her style has been described as one that “effortlessly blends the pop sheen of KT Tunstall and Ellie Goulding with the urgency and darkness of Sneaker Pimpz, Frou Frou and The Chemical Brothers.”
Her debut EP Ocean Floor consists of three songs, ‘Black Shadow’, ‘Submarine’ and ‘Won’t Back Down’ and my favourite of the three ‘Submarine’ has already proved to be a huge hit on Amazing Radio, peaking inside the top three of their chart, while ‘Won’t Back Down’ has been picked by iTunes to be in their ‘What’s Hot’ music section.
My other favourite, Das Kapital added his own touch to ‘Submarine’ culminating in the perfect mix of Murdoch’s sensational vocals and Kapital’s progressive style. It’s pure magic. Don’t you think?
