John Mayer apologises for his controversial interview with Playboy.
Last night, John Mayer was in Nashville, where, whilst onstage he apologised for his interview with Playboy which has caused more than a little controversy. In the interview he was candid about topics from his high profile relationships, his reputation as a douche bag and much more.
He says in the above video (in which he seemed extremely sincere) that in his “quest to be clever..speedy and witty [he tried to] buy himself another day [so] people couldn’t pin him down as a creep.” He then told his fans that he intends to “quit the media game” and that he just wants to “play [his] guitar.”
He then took to his Twitter page saying “While I’m using today for looking at myself under harsh light, I think it’s time to stop trying to be so raw in interviews… I wanted to be a blues guitar player. And a singer. And a songwriter. Not a shock jock. I don’t have the stomach for it…”
I love John Mayer but his interview was more than “raw”, it was insensitive at times. Lets see if he can stick to doing what he does best which is playing his guitar…
