Jimmy Sullivan aka The Rev is dead.

Another shocking celebrity death this year is that of Avenged Sevenfold’s ‘The Rev’ who reportedly died of natural causes on the 28th of December.

According to Fox News, James (Jimmy) Owen Sullivan aka “The Rev” was found dead at his home in Southern California. He was only 28 years old. He was the drummer as well backup vocalist for the Southern California band, “Avenged Sevenfold.”

The Rev was also lead vocalist in the “avant-garde”metal band Pinkly Smooth with fellow Avenged Sevenfold guitarist Synyster Gates.

The band released a statement on their website saying: “It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we tell you of the passing today of Jimmy ‘The Rev’ Sullivan, Jimmy was not only one of the world’s best drummers, but more importantly he was our best friend and brother. Our thoughts and prayers go out to Jimmy’s family and we hope that you will respect their privacy during this difficult time… Jimmy you are forever in your hearts. We love you.” M Shadows, Synyster Gates, Zacky Vengeance and Johnny Christ.

Avenged Sevenfold had just recently began work on a follow up to their 2007 self-titled album and ‘The Rev’s’ loss will no doubt have  huge impact on the continuation of the album.
