Robbie Williams- “Bodies”
My oh my, what are on earth was Robbie Williams on whilst writing Bodies? Who knows, but clearly whatever it was had an effect, causing him to delve into questioning Jesus, looking good naked and bodies…
Fraser McAlpine summed up some of the (many) lyrical parodies brilliantly:
“If Jesus really died for me, then Jesus really tried for me”
- Hear that, heavenly host? That’s the sound of one man clapping…ish.
“All we’ve ever wanted is to look good naked, hope that someone can take it”
- Wonder if he’s ever watched How To Look Good Naked?
“God save me rejection from my reflection. I want perfection”
- WILL ALSO CONSIDER: advection, affection, collection, complexion, confection, connection, convection, correction, a cross-section, defection, detection, direction, dissection, ejection, infection, inflection, injection, inspection, objection, projection, protection, selection.
“Bodies in the Bodhi tree, bodies making chemistry, bodies on my family,
Bodies in the way of me, bodies in the cemetery…”
- Anybody want a cup of tea?
Comedic slating of the song aside, Bodies has done incredibly well, entering the UK singles chart at number 2, selling 89,000 copies in its first week and attaining his best first-week sales since “Rock DJ”…
It seems no-one is entirely sure what Robbie is actually singing about but it doesn’t hurt to have a listen to the rather catchy tune…

Hmm. I tend to agree. Mixed up song. But some would say what we talk about gives away something of our deepest thoughts and feelings. Read more at: http://damascusmoments.wordpress.com/2009/11/03/robbie-williams-is-nearly-back/
Robbie sings here about how Jesus and Christianity takes away the God-given freedom and that God is really the only one that matters! Christianity is there only to controll, kill and abuse power!
Well done for singing about the truth! I love the song and lyrics!
