Rocking The Daisies

Rocking the Daisies. It was an experience to say the least.

I came up on Saturday morning and left on Saturday night.

I split my time between listening to bands and running off to interviews-which caused me to miss a few sets, but you win some, you lose some…I mostly won.

Highlights:

Arriving at Rocking The Daisies.

Finally meeting Eksteen of the Sick Leaves and his publicist Linda (who I’ve known for ages, but have never had the opportunity to meet).

The Media Office.

Meeting Catherine (who did an amazing job with the festival-and who oh-so kindly gave me VIP tickets).

The person in the panda suit at the Media conference.

Sneaking out of the media conference to watch Wrestlerish.

Interviewing Wrestlerish and meeting Brenda (all of whom rocked).

Watching Dan Patlansky do some amazing and unbelievable things with a guitar.

Meeting Dan Patlansky and then finding out he had 15 minutes free, allowing me time to interview him. My excitement was beyond measure.

The band Jinx (who are like Aqua meets Nightwish  and Muse-how can they not be entertaining?).

Meeting Evan Milton and wandering around and then being introduced to Richard the Third as well as many other cool people…

Randomly meeting Cath (from Twitter) at the Media Office.

Sitting in with Byron Rode whilst he interviewed Just Jinjer.

Finding a real toilet in the Media Office.

Listening to Richard the Third’s set. It was the shit.

Sitting in with Byron Rode whilst he interviewed Eksteen of the Sick Leaves.

Eksteen asking if I was sponsored by Vida (he follows me on Twitter you see)…

Finally meeting (or rather bumping into) Eben (aka Haezer) whilst walking up ‘Daisy Lane’.

Trying to re-put up a tent. In the cold. It was interesting to say the least.

Finding Raiven from 7th Son in the tent opposite to the one we were trying to put up. Chatting about music with Raiven all whilst trying not to freeze to death.

Getting coffee. It wasn’t Vida but it was coffee.

Finally meeting and then listening to Markus of Sweat.X in the electro tent.

Checking out Just Jinjer.

Chilling with Rudi, the guys from Wrestlerish and friends whilst listening to Prime Circle.

Meeting Wouter (from Twitter) and him introducing me to Philip and Fred from Thieve.

The general conversation with Philip.

Rudi singing along to Prime Circle.

Jamming to Haezer.

Finding out Zebra and Giraffe won a MAMA award.

Driving back home. Tired, happy and content with the knowledge that while everyone else froze to death, I’d be happily sleeping in my bed.

I may have only been at the Daisies for Saturday but I came.  I saw.  It rocked. I might leave the in depth review to those who braved the whole festival…although I’ll probably end up posting a more in depth review soon. like tomorrow.

xx
