Kate Miller

Kate Miller-Heidke is not your quintessential singer/songwriter. She may have been classically trained, but she has chosen to follow a career in alternative pop music.

She has tried to describe her sound as “pop/folk with a theatrical twist, but it’s woefully inadequate. You’ll just have to listen…” but says “you can’t describe music with words…”

Kate incorporates her classical training into her performances making for quirky live shows. Her stage shows usually feature her band (Keir Nuttall, Nicole Brophy, Ben McCarthy and Steve Pope), and have been extremely successful on the Australian live circuit. The shows, though generally still pop/rock in style, are also noted for snatches of opera-style singing, often for comic effect, for example in parodies of The Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” or Talking Heads’ “Psycho Killer”.

She’s not your average performer and her performances showcase just that.

Enjoy the video for ‘Are you F*&king Kidding Me?’  below. It’s classic.
