Lily Allen quits the music business
MTV recently reported that Lily Allen quit the music business. She revealed “she will not make a follow-up to her much-loved second album, ’It’s Not Me, It’s You’.”
She announced the news on her It’s Not Alright blog (which she has now shut down). An interesting point to note is that she has stayed quiet on the subject on her Twitter stream…
She wrote on her blog: “Just so you know, I have not renegotiated my record contract and have no plans to make another record. I do however remain a fan of new music, so this is not some selfish crusade…The days of me making money from recording music has been and gone as far as I’m concerned…”
Lily hinted she was on the verge of quitting scene recently – but the fact she actually did is rather shocking.
Last month she said: “I’ve been on the road for four years and I’ve given my voice a real run for its money… I’m struggling so I’m going to try something new”.
Something new translates to acting; she is signed up to appear in a West End play called ‘Reasons To Be Pretty’ by acclaimed filmmaker and playwright Neil LaBute.
Lily Allen, the actress? That does have a certain ring to it, let’s see if she can stick with it and make it work. The best of luck to her.
xx
yours in musical madness
