With a sound that has been compared to Prime Circle and Watershed but is still uniquely their own, MerseyState is the culmination of alternative rock at its best.
Hailing from Cape Town, South Africa Wayne Joshua and Shai Caleb spent much time recording and producing other artists and decided it was time to do an album of their own.
Marcel Fuchs, Founder of Rivendale Records heard a demo of “New Jersey Girl and “knew immediately that this band was special.”
Their debut album “The Lucky Ones” features the single “New Jersey Girl” which has garnered major airplay and is a fixture on the local charts. Their album has been described as “nothing short of brilliant” and a European tour looks to showcase MerseyState as a band on par with many international acts.
