Florence and The Machine
“Soul inspired indie” combined with haunting vocals and a melodic sound mean Florence and the Machine make for addictive listening.
Florence Welch along with Robert Ackroyd (guitar), Christopher Lloyd Hayden (drums), Isabella Summers (keyboards) and Tom Monger (harp) are Florence and The Machine.
Welch says she writes metaphorical songs that are “stories with consequences and weird morality issues,” She gets her material from a variety of sources and experiences..
The group has performed at the 2009 Glastonbury Festival, and have supported bands such as White Lies, Friendly Fires and Glasvegas on the tour.
The band’s debut album, Lungs, was released on 6 July 2009 and it shows that Florence and the Machine is band on the rise and are one to look out for.
