60 Seconds With: Greg Carlin of Zebra and Giraffe
I caught up with Greg from Zebra and Giraffe shortly after he won the SAMA for Best English Rock Album.
On winning a SAMA he says “It feels awesome. I have always wanted to win one!”
We all saw the award trophy and some wondered how heavy it was, he laughingly says “I cant actually remember because I literally had it in my hand for about 30 seconds – then they took it away and I’m still waiting for the engraved one…”
He “Didn’t really” forget to thank any-one in his acceptance speech and says “I didn’t want to say anything long and involved. I thanked the people I wanted to thank on stage and thanked the rest of the people in person.”
He is now acknowledged as one of South Africa’s greatest musical acts but admits “well…I don’t think this makes me one of SA’s greatest musical acts, but maybe one day!”
As for international plans for the future he reveals happily “its all top secret at the moment, but yes…”
