Mk Award Winners

The MK awards took place on the 7th of March and here’s a list of winners and my thoughts on it all..

I generally,ok never bash a band on my blog-simply because if I don’t like a band I don’t write about them..but this post might involve some bashing as there are a few of my not so favourite bands on the following list..

Beste Serenade: Parlotones [I’ll be there] Ok to be honest I’m not such a fan of the Parlotones-sorry..but well done to them anyways..

Kampus Hit: Straatligkinders [Avontuur van ‘n hartbreek] They are a cool band and it’s a great song!

Sexyste Video: Flipacoin [Jasmyn]I suppose they kinda deserved it and the competition they were up against weren’t really competition at all..

Beste Live: Foto Na Dans [Hou Jou Hande Bymekaar]. Sadly haven’t had the oppurtunity to hear them live but am glad they won!

Beste Solo: Lianie May [Jy Soen My Nie Meer Nie]. Sorry who? It might be because I’m English but I honestly have no idea who she and how she manged to beat some top class acts such as Jax Panik and Dan Patlansky..but hey..

Hardste: Van Coke Kartel. [September Fools]. Not quite as ‘hard’ as some of the other video’s in the category-but I’m a fan so I’m happy they won!

Snaaksste Video: Koolerbox. [Jou Moer]. Hilarious!

Beste Nuweling: Ashtray Electric. I love Ashtray and am super happy they won! They were up against some stiff competition such as Zebra and Giraffe and The Pretty Blue Guns to name a few..

Pornster: Snotkop. No words, somehow Snotkop managed to win an award-but they might have actually deserved this one!

Beste Groep: Straatligkinders.aKING,The Dirty Skirts and a few others were beaten by this (somewhat surprising) choice, but still their music is rad so I guess well done to them!!

Beste Video: Parlotones [I’ll Be There]Again,I’ll state I’m not such a fan of the Parlotones and think the award could’ve gone to another band in the category..but hey..kudos to them..
