I caught up with The Plastics and found all about how the band started, whats new and about their dog?..
So how did you go about choosing the bands name? We thought the name was pretty cool after we saw the movie Mean Girls and the hot girls were called The Plastics…. and we like to think of ourselves as hot girls!
How’d the band meet? Well..Scal and Sash are brothers so they met when they were quite young, Karl was met by the brothers through a friend of theirs Giles. Arjuna and the bros met when when they were about 14 they were all in punk bands and became mates..
What are the new things happening? We are busy recording and writing material for our forthcoming EP to be released early ’09, We are going to be filming a music video for our new single “dirty dancing” by the way we also just got a new guitarist Arjuna
What you’d like to achieve in the music industry? Everything.
What’s the new single your releasing (or will it be a surprise)? “Dirty Dancing” it was a surprise until you read it 2 lines ago, its good song you will like it!

Who takes the longest to get ready before a gig? Scal (8 hour power showers)
Are any of you working on side projects? Karl is part of a Plastics tribute band lol
Who talks the most rubbish (at any given moment)? To quote the great Graeme Smith “we all like to muck around” and joke all the time..
Who is the messiest on tour? Our dog Whatamess!
