Exclusive Zebra and Giraffe Interview

I got the chance to ask Greg Carlin (the mastermind behind Zebra and Giraffe) a few questions. We talked about the band, Vfest and the new singles!

How you met the guys that you perform with: I met the other guys through mutual friends. Alan, the guitarist was the first guy I got into the project. From there, the 2 of us found other guys he knew.

On the new things happening: Well Vfest has been ‘postponed’ now so that’s a pity. We were really looking forward to it. We are about to shoot a music video for our 3rd single’ Oxymoron’ (we are shooting tomorrow)!Nov 12th…

What you’d like to achieve in the music industry: I’d like to be able to create music for a living. In South Africa it’s hard to make a living out of music, especially in the genre and style I write in. But I am looking on taking the music overseas and exposing to a wider audience.

What’s the new single your releasing?
Our 3rd single is ‘Oxymoron’, the single has just been released to radio. We will also be shooting another video in December for ‘Running Faster’ which will be our 4th single.

Do you have a favorite song from the album?: My favourite was always the Knife. I never saw it as a single though, so when we released it and people loved it so much, it was a good feeling (smiles)

Zebra and Giraffe are playing at Kirstenbosch soon!

oh and I hope their 5th single will be ‘Fight! Fight! Fight!’ (loove that song)
